We argue that classical non-Abelian gauge theory provides an example of 't Hooft's scenario, in which quantum mechanics is generated at large distances in a classical dynamical system. Using the known properties of thermal field theories, we show how the transformation from classical to quantum dynamics emerges. Planck's constant ¯ h is defined in terms of the quantities of the underlying classical field theory.

We derive a model Hamiltonian whose ground state expectation value of any two-body operator coincides with that obtained with the Jastrow correlated wave function of the many-body Fermi system.
